An oven that will not heat properly ruins dinner and wastes energy. In most cases the cause is a single failed part: a heating element, a thermostat, a fan motor, a door seal or the igniter on a gas oven. These parts can be replaced at a fraction of the cost of a new oven.
We test the elements, thermostat and temperature probe, fan, controls, wiring and door, and for gas ovens the igniter, thermocouple and gas valve. All gas work is done safely with a leak test after every repair.
Common oven problems we fix
Oven not heating
A failed bake, grill or fan element, a faulty thermostat or a selector switch problem.
Uneven cooking or burning
A failed fan element or fan motor, a faulty temperature sensor, or worn door seals letting heat escape.
Oven tripping the electricity
A shorted element or wiring fault. Do not keep resetting the breaker; get it checked.
Fan not working or noisy
A worn fan motor bearing or a broken fan blade.
Door not closing or broken glass
Broken hinges, worn seals or cracked inner glass. We replace hinges, seals and glass panels.
Gas oven not igniting
A faulty igniter, a dirty burner, a failed thermocouple or a gas valve problem.
Controls, clock or display not working
A faulty timer, touch panel or control board. Some ovens will not heat until the clock is set.
Light not working
A blown bulb or holder. A simple repair we do during any visit.
Microwave not heating
A failed magnetron, high-voltage diode, capacitor or door switch. These carry high voltage, so do not open a microwave yourself.

Oven care tips from our technicians
- Wipe spills after the oven cools; burnt food on the base can damage elements and seals.
- Do not line the oven floor with foil; it blocks heat and can damage the enamel.
- Check the door seal regularly; heat escaping means longer cooking and higher bills.
- For gas ovens, if you ever smell gas, turn off the supply, open windows and do not use any switches.

Oven Repair: frequently asked questions
Why is my oven not heating up?
Usually a burnt-out heating element or a faulty thermostat. On some ovens the clock must be set or the child lock released before they heat. We test each part to find the fault.
Do you repair gas ovens?
Yes. Our technicians repair gas ovens and grills, including igniters, thermocouples and valves, and leak-test every gas connection afterwards.
Can you replace broken oven door glass?
Yes, we replace inner and outer door glass, hinges and seals for most brands.
Do you repair microwaves?
Yes, including built-in microwaves and combi ovens. Microwaves store high voltage even when unplugged, so please do not open one yourself.
